Lamar Herrin is the author of ten books, most recently the short story collection Last Respects and Other Stories, and the novel Fishing the Jumps, just published by University Kentucky Press. His short stories have appeared in the New Yorker, Harper's, Epoch, and Paris Review, which awarded him its Aga Kahn fiction prize. He is also the recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, winner of the Associated Writing Program's Award for the Novel, and is professor emeritus of creative writing and contemporary literature at Cornell University. He and his wife, Amparo, split their time between Ithaca, New York and Valencia, Spain.
